A lovely local company who make girl’s dresses from recycled materials that are designed to be hand-me-downs. This logos is the first of several pieces of design work I will be doing for them.

Calendula is a natural health and beauty shop based in the seaside town of Southwold, Suffolk. The shop is run by my wife Aleyna, and has already become well established as a part of this lovely community. Mindful Research is a user research consultancy based in Stockport. A successful company with clients like the BBC, Orange and Sony Ericsson, I was drafted in to supply a logo and typographical treatment that would reflect the high standards and professionalism of the organisation.mindfulresearch.co.uk

Mother Earth is a small chain of whole food stores in North London. The original site was in desperate need of an update, so I worked with them to create a new architecture and visual design that would focus in on the most important aspects of the shops; their unique feel, commitment to good, healthy food and service to the local community.www.motherearth-health.com

Utopia:Documents is a project of the Advanced Interfaces Group, who are based at Manchester University. I improved the visual design as well as reorganising the content, eliminating areas that were unnecessary and consolidating other pages, creating a site that is better focussed on its primary purpose, encouraging the download of the application.www.getutopia.com

Starting life as ‘Ahoys’ Office Kitten was an entirely new ecommerce site, built from scratch in Rails by Setfire Media. As the designer for this project, I created all the initial wireframes for the site, as well as developing the branding and building the actual interfaces for both the front end and the admin interfaces. I worked closely with the developers to create interactions on the administrative interface that were intuitive and time-saving.www.officekitten.co.uk

Dig is a local veg box company in Manchester. I worked with them to update their existing website, improving how their content was organised, helping them to decide what to remove and what to keep. I also created a new visual design, which better reflected their branding and clearly differentiates them from their competitors.www.digfood.co.uk

I developed the brand in close collaboration with the business owners, going on to create not only the logo artwork, but an extensive range of marketing materials, including signage, vinyl graphics and apparel. As well as the logo, I created a system of geometric shapes that could be recombined in a variety of ways, giving us a way to brand Setfire’s marketing collateral in a way that retained a cohesive identity, without getting boring.

For the website, I carefully created the visual design through a series of sketches and mockups, allowing client feedback at each stage. I also executed the required css and html, ensuring that the translation of the design to the web was done accurately.I then produced a new design for an update of the site a year later, introducing case study pages and improving existing content.www.setfiremedia.com

Cartridgesave is a successful online retailer, with a turnover of £5m in 2009. For a period of 3 years I worked as the designer on Cartridgesave, producing two full visual redesigns. I also worked to improve the interactions on key areas such as the checkout, for which I produced a slimmed-down easier to use design, as well introducing inline validation, reducing user errors and speeding up completion time.www.cartridgesave.co.uk
